PREAT CORPORATION
As President and CEO of Preat Corporation from 2010 to 2025, Chris Borms led the company to new heights in dental technology innovation. Joining Preat in 1997 after graduating from Gonzaga University and the City College of San Francisco Dental Technology Program, Chris quickly became a driving force in the industry. In 2002, they authored the Preat Corporation Technical Manual, with revisions in 2012 and 2019, establishing a cornerstone resource for dental professionals.
A prolific inventor, Chris developed six unique dental attachments and 24 implant products, advancing the field of prosthodontics. Their expertise made them a sought-after global lecturer, delivering keynote addresses and educational sessions on implants, attachments, treatment planning, laboratory technology, and removable partial denture design. Over the past decade, they provided 40–60 hours of continuing education annually, engaging audiences at prestigious events like the American College of Prosthodontists, Hinman, Townie, Oregon Dental, Florida Dental, Lab Day East, Lab Day West, Lab Day Chicago, and various dental laboratory and prosthodontic residency programs.
In 2021, Chris successfully sold Preat Corporation to a private equity firm, marking a significant milestone in their career. They retired in 2025, leaving a lasting legacy in dental technology and education.
